Overview
Truist, which reached the leaderboard of the Javelin Strategy & Research Online Banking Scorecard for the first time in 2025, has ascended to the top spot in the year’s version. Through broad based improvement across the digital experience, Truist overtook longtime leaders U.S. Bank and Bank of America. Its virtual assistant, comprehensive security center, full online Zelle support, and insight-rich homepage helped set the pace. The rankings reflect a competitive field and reveal the gaps that stand between today’s banks and what their online banking experiences must become.
Customers increasingly need online banking to simplify complex decisions, protect them from fraud, provide timely support, and help them understand and improve their finances. Yet many institutions still bury valuable features, offer generic help, underuse their homepages, and leave customers to navigate financial decisions alone. The 2026 Online Banking Scorecard identifies the capabilities separating leaders from laggards and provides a strategic road map for turning online banking into a platform for engagement, advice, and deeper relationships.

- How do the top 20 banks in the United States rank in terms of their online banking experiences?
