The gradual proliferation of EMV over the coming years is expected to greatly reduce card fraud at the point of sale. Subsequently, fraudsters armed with compromised payment data will focus on the thriving online retail market.  With card payments making up 84% of the volume of online retail transactions, improved online payment authentication is critical for preventing card-not-present fraud, both today and in an EMV-enabled future.
