John Vogl

John is an analyst/content specialist with the Payments team at Javelin Strategy & Research. He edits, polishes and writes research reports that are provided to leading banks, payment service providers, fintech leaders and government agencies. 

He arrived at Javelin after a long, award-winning career in sports journalism. John covered the Buffalo Sabres and the National Hockey League for 20 seasons for The Athletic (a New York Times company) and The Buffalo News. Most recently, he was a senior editor at The Athletic. He holds a bachelors degree in journalism from Buffalo State University, where he taught an upper-level editing course.
