Commercial card controls have gotten more sophisticated over the years and the incidence of fraud is so low that some controls are not really necessary. If an employee is worthy of a company’s trust to perform key tasks in the business, shouldn’t the same person be trusted to use a company card appropriately without undue restrictions? It’s time for companies to loosen card controls.
