The Durbin Amendment is undergoing further judicial review, debit EMV implementation has been thrown into turmoil, person-to-person payments have been challenged by heavyweight nonbank competitors, consumers have balked at DDA fees, and prepaid cards continue to grow in appeal and usage. We are seeing changes and challenges on all sides of the debit landscape as the “pay-now” debit customer is offered new payment tools and services and as service providers continue innovating and evolving.
